Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Gerry Nicholls, I am a self-taught, passionate, freelance photographer based on the Gold Coast, Australia. I specialise in live-action photography - specifically in music and surfing with a keen interest in other genres such as portraits, landscapes, and nature.

My professional aim is to ensure that I produce high standards of work that comes with honesty and integrity; delivering my unique style. Although quietly spoken, I always let the images do the talking.

I developed a love for photography as a young adolescent having a keen eye for concert photography. I always wanted to be first in line at concerts so that I could be as close to the action as possible. I often dreamed about one day being on the other side of the barrier using a professional camera. To date, I've photographed many local and international musicians.

After leaving city life behind some 14 years ago and moving to the coast surfing quickly captured my attention. I was fascinated with what a surfer could do on a wave, spending hours watching their movements.

I love taking portraits! I enjoy the challenge of capturing the essence of each personality, no matter their age, through the lens; of making my subjects feel natural and relaxed within their own skin. I have also photographed several weddings.
